This week, the nonprofit Advocates for Opioid Recovery started a push for earned media and a smaller ad buy in the five figures.
Their effort focuses more on pressuring President Trump to take action within the administration to address the crisis.
“We would love to see him put some more detail around the commitments that he made in New Hampshire related to opioids and fighting the epidemic,” Anne Woodbury, Executive Director of the Advocates for Opioid Recovery, told The Hill Extra. “There’s no animosity here, at least at this point. We’d like to see the same type of bravado and proclivity for action that he has taken in the first month of his presidency applied to helping combat the opioid epidemic and break down treatment barriers.”
